My role at Lux Everyday evolved from solely deal copywriting for Scoopon to a much larger range of editorial and marketing responsibilities. In addition to deal copywriting and editing, I took total ownership of the brand’s blog channels, which involved improving the appearance and functionality of both blogs and taking the initiative to create a new editorial content calendar for data tracking, ideation and strategy. As a result of my work, the Scoopon blog saw a 320% increase in traffic, while the Cudo blog saw a 242% increase.
Furthermore, I was also engaged in a number of ad hoc marketing responsibilities, including crafting SEO-optimised copy for all new deal landing pages, creating copy for display ads and re-engagement EDMs, and assisting customer experience and vendor relations with mass customer communications.
I also began upskilling on paid social and took ownership of the Scoopon Instagram, implementing a new content strategy designed to further drive organic and paid traffic and, ultimately, conversions.

OVER60, CONTENT PRODUCER
March 2016 – March 2018
I began at Over60, a popular online news and lifestyle publication for Australian retirees, as a Junior Content Producer in March 2016. My duties involved pitching and covering breaking and trending news stories, crafting quality evergreen pieces about everything from travel and finance to health and entertainment, as well as researching and interviewing experts, members of the community and entertainment figures.
Other responsibilities included writing effective native and advertorial articles, maintaining an editoral calendar, curating content for EDMs, sourcing and editing images, uploading content to the CMS and scheduling to social media.
In May 2017, I dropped the “Junior” and took on more writing and social media management responsibilities.
INFODEC COMMUNICATIONS, JUNIOR COPYWRITER AND CASUAL ADMINISTRATOR (PART-TIME ROLE)
October 2012 – July 2015
During my time at Infodec Communications, I worked closely with small to medium businesses, individuals, industry groups and politicians to develop effective social media strategies, distribute press releases, design and create email marketing campaigns, upload content to the CMS, conduct research and create relevant and engaging content. I worked with companies from many different sectors including media, finance, health and legal.
Over the course of my time at Infodec, I helped manage up to 10 Facebook business pages and several Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts. While managing these social media accounts I learnt how to create and market content to each business’ specific client base, including the use of Facebook advertising and analytics tools.
I was also able to put my graphic design skills to use, creating infographics and images for social media, blogs and email newsletters. In addition, I have a proficient working knowledge of basic HTML which was useful in this role as I was often required to make minor edits to websites and email newsletter templates.
LOLIGO MEDIA, EDITORIAL COORDINATOR AND WRITER (PART-TIME ROLE)
September 2013 – December 2014
The digital publishing sister company of Infodec Communications, I helped coordinate and write for two of its digital magazines, Me Timeand Early Educator. The articles written for these publications required extensive research and conducting interviews with people all around Australia via the Internet.
I AM A BOAT PERSON , FREELANCE MEDIA OFFICER (VOLUNTEER ROLE)
November 2013 – July 2015
As Freelance Media Officer for I Am A Boat Person, a charity aimed at celebrating cultural diversity within Australia and providing educational resources to asylum seekers housed in detention centres, the majority of my role involved creating and sharing images for the charity’s Instagram account. I also participated in events where I helped increase awareness of the charity and its work.
